2026 China Labor Day Holidays Notice

We will be off  for coming China Labor Day  ( May 1st  - May 5th ).

In China, May 1st is known as International Workers' Day (劳动节) . It is a public holiday dedicated to honoring the contributions of workers across all industries.

The holiday was officially established after the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949. During the early decades, grand parades and mass gatherings were held in major cities to celebrate workers' achievements. Today, while official ceremonies such as the awarding of National May Day Medals continue to recognize outstanding workers, the holiday has evolved into a major occasion for travel and leisure.

Thanks to the "golden week" holiday system (currently a 5-day break from May 1st to 5th), millions of Chinese people take advantage of the long weekend to travel domestically or abroad. Popular tourist destinations become bustling with visitors, making it one of the busiest travel seasons of the year alongside the National Day holiday.

In short, China's May Day combines traditional respect for labor with modern consumer culture, reflecting the country's economic growth and changing lifestyles.
